LEED Consulting

LEED consulting starts with organizing a eco-charrettes with owner, design team and other steak-holders to establish LEED goals, easily achievable points based on location, foot-print, and nature of facility. Review LEED credit requirements with the owner and decisions of the design team; Develop and/or modify the LEED checklist; Provide assistance to the design team on LEED items, research various LEED credits and credit rulings if necessary, assist with specification development and review specification and provide LEED information to the construction team; and Assign the design team in preparation of LEED documentation.

LEED Design

GEC specializes in design of mechanical, electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Our objective is to maximize LEED credits for Energy and Atmosphere, Indoor Air Quality, Water Efficiency, daylighting, Indoor and Outdoor lighting and lighting controls, building façade, and Innovations. GEC has expertise in utilizing state-of-the-art technologies in design of HVAC systems such as geothermal heat pumps, energy recovery ventilation, DOAS, Chiller beams, radiant heating and cooling systems, demand control ventilation (DCV), VAV systems, displacement ventilation, Solar-thermal hot water system, on-site electric power generation from PVs, modular hot water boilers with primary and secondary heating water system, optimized chilled water system, building automation system and so forth.

Energy Simulation Modeling

GEC will use energy modeling for analyzing design options and use as a value engineering tool for decision making as a part of integrated design approach. GEC will create energy simulation model and documentation as required in attaining LEED rating and to simulate and maximize energy credits. GEC will perform a building simulation of proposed design, and baseline to determine compliance with ASHRAE 90.1-1999; The model will also be used to optimize building energy performance by simulating various energy efficiency measure proposed by the design team. The number of runs to qualify the benefits of various energy efficiency measures will be determined and provided; the deliverable from this task will include energy cost savings due to various energy efficiency measures and LEED documentation for the energy efficiency points.

LEED Documentation

GEC will provide information to design team members and contractor that will support LEED documentation; Receive LEED submittals and track information; Prepare LEED letter templates and distribute for design team/contractor completion; Coordinate LEED documentation process; and Assemble all LEED certification information for submission to the USGBC.

Commissioning

GEC provides Fundamental and enhanced commissioning for LEED credit. Please see commissioning services for more details.
