Company Overview

The Next Chapter in Green-Building Engineering.

General Energy Corp. (GEC) provides energy-efficiency and solar energy systems design, installation and management for companies seeking to reduce energy costs, improve their sustainability and mitigate climate risks. Founded in 1985, GEC has completed more than 900 projects for clients across Illinois (or the Midwest).

GEC engineering design solutions are as pragmatic as they are innovative. As a full-service MEP/FP engineering consulting companywe have expanded our service offerings as our clients’ needs have grown. Today, GEC provides complete LEED engineering design services as well as integrated design and installation of solar energy systems.

Our team take a consultative approach to every project, designing energy systems that take full advantage of the latest technologies while staying on task and on budget. With decades of experience in energy efficiency, we can significantly reduce your energy load, then design a solar PV system that offsets the rest of your electricity use with clean energy. As a SunPower dealer, we offer the #1 commercial solar solution, ideal for organizations with high energy needs.

While GEC has received many awards over the years, our proudest accomplishment is having  worked with the best and brightest in Illinois to advance energy conservation best practices and green-building design.
